BMW India officially confirms the performance M2 Competition
BMW discretely added the M2 to its official Indian website confirming the performance car will be added to its portfolio. The M2 is the performance-oriented version of the 2 Series sedan. It is powered by the same six-cylinder bi-turbo 3.0-litre petrol engine that powers the M3 and the M4. However, in the M2, it makes 410bhp of peak power and 550Nm of peak torque. Power from this engine is sent to the rear wheels via a 7-speed dual clutch transmission. The result is a 0-100 km/h time of just 4.2 seconds and a top speed limited to 250 km/h.
Performance oriented enhancements are standard ensuring maximum driver engagement. The M2 is anticipated to be launched soon and will take on the likes of the Mercedes-Benz CLA45 AMG.
