This BMW X5 Protects you from drone attacks
Armored vehicles protect occupants during times of “need” and the degree to which is determined by the level of armoring selected. Manufacturers have been customising existing production models since sometime now and BMW has just revealed their latest armored car. The BMW X5 VR6 armored SUV. The VR6 in its name indicates its level of armoring and in this case is very effective.
BMW claims this SUV has protective plates that will withstand blasts from 33 pounds of TNT and stop bullets from an AK-47 rifle. Additionally, there is the armoured luggage compartment, aluminium underbody and multilayered safety glass measuring 1.3 inches in thickness. All of this, while naturally, not compromising on any of the signature creature comforts one comes to expect with a Luxury SUV.
The fuel tank is self sealing and should it be required, post a collision the engine is designed to still keep running. Powering this behemoth is the popular twin-turbo 4.4 litre V8, producing 530 hp and 553 lb.ft of torque.
Naturally, given the added weight for protection also implies enhanced suspension and better brakes.
For those of you seeking some serious protection, without compromising on comfort, this is certainly an excellent weapon of choice. Prices will be considerably above what you will pay for the standard X5 SUV.
