Introducing the Mercedes-Benz AMG GT Concept : A glimpse into the future
- Production slated for 2018
- Claimed 0-100 kmph in under 3 seconds
- Ultra-Modern Petrol and Battery Hybrid Powertrain
Amongst the several debuts by luxury automobile and supercar companies at the Geneva Motor show, one distinctly made its mark. Introducing Mercedes’ AMG GT Concept - A four door super saloon aiming to compete with the Porsche Panamera.
Design inspiration draws from the CLS, however with a more aggressive stance combined with muscular proportions. Carbon fibre is the material of choice for the roof, front spoiler, rear diffuser, amongst other elements in an effort to reduce weight.
EQ+ Power, a term to get used to refers to the high performance hybrids created by Mercedes-AMG. EQ/Concept EQ alone will now be commonly referred to when discussing electric mobility standing for “Electric Intelligence” in Mercedes-Benz terminology.
Rumours for power include an 800 hp high performance hybrid motor capable of reaching 100 kph in under 3 seconds. Primarily achievable with the help of the combined petrol and electric power making it a blisteringly fast sedan and ensuring the competition remains strong in the high performance variants of the F-segment.
