The World’s most expensive SUV has just been launched: Please welcome the Mercedes-Maybach G650 Landaulet.
- Limited to 99 units
- Prices starting at USD$500,000 and upwards
- Features a Landaulet style - Part of the roof folds away to create a convertible
Bringing back the legendary Maybach name into familiar territory, Mercedes-Maybach has just launched the G650 Landaulet making this potentially the most expensive SUV presently available surpassing the Bentley Baytaga even by a decent margin.
The SUV presents itself with a Landaulet design feature, previously showcased in a version of the Maybach 62 sedan, allowing the second half of the fabric roof to fold away at the touch of a button, thereby creating an open air experience for passengers seated in the rear. Incidentally, the rear includes other creature comforts such as a massage function for the rear seats, temperature controlled cup-holders, folding tables, and two 10-inch entertainment screens. Premium elements include high-grade leather trim with diamond stitching, chrome-plating, and a choice of three colors for the roof.
The G-Class is the inspiration from which its underpinnings have been developed. 18-inch ground clearance combined with carbon fibre fender flairs and the familiar G-Class 4x4 system add to the tune of the G650’s twin turbocharged V12 engine producing 621 horsepower and 738 pound-feet of torque.
Deliveries are expected to commence this fall and with 99 units available, we believe the Mercedes-Maybach G650 does well to add to a collectors fleet who believes in the concept of uber luxurious off-roading as well as for those that match alphanumerics and wish to transfer their luggage to and from their personalized Gulfstream G650 business jet.
