Audi RS6 Avant

Audi RS Range

Sometimes referred to as “Halo” cars, RS is Audi's highest performance 'top-tier' trim level, positioned distinctly above the "S" ("Sport") specification level of Audi's regular model range. All "RS" cars pioneer some of Audi's latest and most advanced technology and engineering prowess.

The "RS" initials are taken from the German: RennSport — literally translated as "racing sport". Available for limited time and only in select markets, on a restricted model range, these "RS" (and "S" models) models are wholly designed, developed and produced in-house by Audi AG's high performance private subsidiary company, Audi Sport GmbH.

An estate with some serious space and performance to thrill the family sums up the RS6 Avant. An interesting category to participate in given the current obsession for SUV’s. Nonetheless a fantastic offering from the German brand to provide enthusiasts the right balance between performance and practicality.

The 4.0 litre V8 TFSI engine developing 560 bhp accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in a mighty 3.9 seconds. This can be partially attributed to 700 Nm of torque transmitted to all-four wheels using the legendary quattro all wheel drive system via its 8-speed tiptronic transmission.

To enhance the driving experience further, Audi suggests the optional Dynamic package plus. The dynamic package includes:

Ceramic brakes

RS sports suspension plus with Dynamic Ride Control
Enhanced suspension setup which consists of a special shock absorber system that counteracts pitch and body roll movement without using any electronic devices

Dynamic steering

Top speed restriction increase to 305 km/h, where law permits.
