- First RS to use the current Audi design philosophy
- New V6 Turbo replaces the previous naturally aspirated V8 engine
- Prices start at INR 1.1 Crore (ex-showroom, India)
Adding to the A5/S5 family, Audi has just launched its high performance RS5 Coupe in India. Now in its second generation, the RS5 embodies Audi’s most recent design philosophy.
Performance is now generated from a 2.9 litre twin-turbo V6 petrol motor replacing the previous naturally aspirated V8 engine. Despite the smaller displacement, power figures stated are plenty - a massive 450 bhp and 650 Nm of torque to be precise. Claimed 0-100 kph in just 3.9 seconds.
Sport seats, a flat-bottomed steering wheel, sport pedals and Audi’s Virtual Cockpit digital instrument system with RS highlights help provide the car with added distinguishing elements.
Presently, the RS5 Coupes nearest competitor is the M4 from BMW and seems like a performance bargain at INR 1.1 Crore, given the BMW is at INR 1.33 Crore.
