Ferrari reveals a breathtaking one-off SP38 model
- Commissioned by an enthusiastic loyal client passionate about racing
- Inspired by the legendary F40
- Based on the chassis and mechanics of the Ferrari 488 GTB
Ferrari delivered the latest product called the SP38 from its “One-Off” program to its owner today, and the car was immediately put through its paces in a series of hot laps at the firm’s Fiorano test track.
The long term Ferrari client wanted a modern car using inspiration from the legendary Ferrari F40 supercar. The car was created by the design studio at Ferrari with an all new body using the chassis and mechanics of the Ferrari 488 GTB. The side air intakes have been hidden beneath skillfully sculpted aluminum sheets that fold away from the lowered beltline to the rear wheel arch.
The Ferrari SP38 will debut this Saturday, May 26, at Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este.
