Bentayga
Bentley recently embarked on a journey to create an SUV for the first time in its 100 year history, popularly now known as the Bentayga. The name was inspired by the rugged peak of the Roque Bentayga in Gran Canaria, the subtropical Canary Island. Bentley also drew inspiration from Taiga, the world’s largest transcontinental snow forest, and is composed of the first four letters of Bentley and an altered spelling of Taiga. Bentayga also means "carried interest" in Swahili.
Claimed by Bentley to be the most luxurious, hand-built, all-terrain vehicle on Earth, it is a car in which technology, speed and power have come together to offer an extraordinary driving experience.
The Bentayga is a five-door SUV that can seat four, five or 7 passengers depending on the selected configuration. There are now five models in the range, following the arrival of new Bentayga Hybrid as the world’s first luxury plug-in SUV hybrid.
Accompanying this new model is the Bentayga V8 and Bentayga, an exceptionally fast SUV thanks to its W12 engine. Alongside these, the efficient Bentayga Diesel is able to travel more than 1,000 km on one full tank of fuel while Bentayga Mulliner is an exclusive expression for those appreciating the finer details.
The Drive Dynamics Control offers a choice of driving modes, all offering absolute confidence and control. Switch between four settings – Comfort, Sport, Custom and Bentley – using a rotary control.
Bentayga features more than ten driver assistance systems for urban driving, longer distance touring and robust off-roading. These intelligent control systems include an automatic braking system for the city, a pedestrian detection system and Head-up Display (where key information is projected onto your windscreen). Also featured are Night Vision (which recognises animals and people), a blind spot monitor, Exit Warning and Traffic Sign Recognition.
In terms of music, the Bentley system (as standard), Bentley Signature Audio and the 1,950 watt Naim for Bentley premium sound system are offered.
Additionally, the Bentayga has a number of specification elements available as well as accessories and personalization options.
