Lamborghini Urus ST-X Concept unveiled

Lamborghini’s motorsport division, Squadra Corsa, has just unveiled an even more focused, track-spec Urus called the Urus ST-X Concept. The track-only version of the extremely quick SUV will be used in the brand’s one-make championship scheduled to begin in 2020.

The Urus ST-X Concept features a number of changes – outside, inside and under the hood – over the standard model and has benefitted from Lamborghini Squadra Corsa’s motorsport experience and expertise.

The 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine that makes 650hp and 850Nm of torque now receives larger intakes for improved cooling. Lightweight materials has been used extensively to bring the SUV’s kerb weight down by 25 percent. The race-spec SUV also sports a number of FIA-approved safety elements such as a steel roll cage, a fire suppression system and an FT3 fuel tank.

The one-make championship that the track-only Urus will compete in combines circuit and off-road racing, with FIA-approved tracks in Europe and the Middle-east. Lamborghini will offer drivers/customers car and technical support during the race weekends.
