Range Rover Velar launched in India – Land Rover’s most aerodynamic SUV yet

  • The fourth model in the fleet positioned between the Range Rover Evoque and Sport
  • Three powertrain options combined with legendary off road capability available
  • Deliveries expected at the end of January, 2018 at a starting price of 78.83 lakhs (ex-showroom)

Further to our preview of the Range Rover Velar, this contemporary SUV has now officially been launched in India. Showcasing the new design direction from Land Rover Range Rover, the Velar, although meaning ‘disguise’ or ‘cover up’ actually displays significant modern evolution with its styling. Beautiful matrix l.e.d headlights with an imposing grill combined with a subtle sloping roofline allow for arguably the most stylish Range Rover in recent times.

An absolute masterpiece on the inside with innovative symmetric dual touch screens allowing the occupants to customise a host of features. Personalised trim options using the highest quality of materials add to the already generous list of standard creature comforts.

Cool and practical technology include the powered gesture tailgate for simple loading with hands free access on the exterior.

This modern SUV will be available in India in three powertrains; a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder, 180PS diesel; a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder, 250PS petrol and a 3.0-litre, V6, 300PS diesel. Legendary off-road performance can be assumed keeping in line with the Range Rover DNA including all terrain progress control (ATPC), essentially Land Rover’s off-roading cruise control function.

Hot on the heels of the launch of the limited edition Range Rover SVO Autobiography, Land Rover Range Rover is certainly closing out the year aggressively with the likes of this very stylish offering at a relatively competitive price. We certainly appreciate the design direction they are headed towards and look forward to seeing similar updates going forward.
