2020 Mercedes-Benz GLE launched in India; INR 73.7 lakhs
With over 13,000 units sold in India so far, the GLE SUV is clearly a popular SUV across India. Adding to this, Mercedes-Benz India has just launched the GLE SUV with a long wheel base to its range. This new model will be available with two engine options - a 2.0-litre four cylinder 300d and a 3.0-litre V6 400d.
The four-cylinder pushes 240 hp handsomely with an impressive 500 Nm of torque to match. The V6, however, truly comes into its own with 700 Nm of torque for some serious pulling power.
An exclusive trim features a range of technology including its new MBUX voice assistant, self parking capability and wireless charging to name a few. The elite trim adds gesture control, air suspension and a 360 degree camera.
The 300d is said to be locally assembled with a starting price of INR 73.7 lakh (ex-showroom) while the 400d comes in directly from overseas and bears a price tag of INR 1.25 Crore (ex-showroom).
Luxury Motor Press thinks:
Replacing the ML-Class from Mercedes-Benz, the GLE was already a popular car with some sizable shoes to fit into. It seems to have done an impressive job with excellent sales globally making it one of the most popular models after the E-Class sedan for the German luxury brand.
For India, we believe it will continue its success and without a doubt continue to increase in numbers, particularly given the current SUV craze.
