2021 Audi A4 Facelift launched in India
- INR 42.34 lakh onward
After a temporary leave of absence on the official Audi India website, Audi starts the year with the launch of a facelifted Audi A4 sedan. This popular model from the German brand brings with it some noticeable changes outside and some minor changes on the inside.
Two variants will be offered for the Audi face-lifted A4 - Premium Plus starting at INR 42.34 lakh (ex-showroom) and a feature filled Technology version starting at INR 46.67 lakh (ex-showroom).
The exterior now brings with it a wider single-frame grille, revised bumpers and new day-time running lights. A 10.1 inch infotainment screen completes the cabin with subtle changes on the inside. The significant updates are primarily mechanical with a new engine and drive-train in action. Dipping into the Volkswagen family parts bin brings us now a petrol only version using a 2.0-litre turbo-charged engine producing 190 hp.
No more diesel for the A4 that just might signify the times ahead. Additionally, the A4 isn’t offered with its famous quattro all-wheel-drive system anymore. Instead, they use a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission powering just the front wheels.
Luxury Motor Press thinks
Audi has some stiff competition in the segment with the likes of the BMW 3Series (and long wheel base expected soon), Mercedes-Benz C-Class, Jaguar XE and upcoming Volvo S60. However, it is refreshing to see new models releasing from the German brand and interesting to note that they have elected not to go with a diesel, perhaps giving us a glimpse into the future?
