Audi launches the 2017 A5 model range - the A5, A5 Cabriolet and S5 Sportback

Introducing a sports car design with practicality is a challenge, yet the A5 from Audi succeeds in this department. With a sleek, coupe like body profile and space to seat 4 comfortably, Audi has just launched its A5 model range slotting itself ideally between the popular A4 model range and the A6 model range.
Now available is the A5 Sportback, A5 Cabriolet and S5 Sportback versions. Similarity in layout to the A4 is evident, with each model presenting a host of features including a large infotainment system and LCD instrument cluster. A 755W Bang and Olufsen sound system and Audi’s smartphone integration suite with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are optional extras as is a large sunroof for the Sportback models.
Audi A5 Sportback
The A5 Sportback and Cabriolet is powered courtesy of a 2.0 litre diesel mill producing 190 bhp and 400Nm of torque when mated to a 7-speed tiptronic gearbox. The A5 Sportback, however is front wheel drive while the cabriolet uses Audi’s legendary quattro all wheel drive system.
The Audi A5 Cabriolet
The S5 Sportback takes performance up a notch with a 3.0 litre turbo V6 petrol engine capable of producing 354 bhp with 500Nm of torque. The S5 also uses an 8-speed automatic gearbox transferring power to all four wheels. These figures translate to a 0-100 kph reach of just 4.7 seconds, mighty quick for a four door saloon.
The new A5 Sportback, A5 Cabriolet and S5 Sportback at Rs 54.02 lakh, Rs 67.51 lakh and Rs 70.60 lakh, respectively (ex-showroom, Delhi).
