Triumph Tiger 850 Sport officially in India; INR 11.95 lakh
Adventure bikes are here and with good reason. So much to explore across our beautiful country and the need for a reliable, comfortable and well-balanced weapon. Triumph adds to their line-up today with the launch of the Triumph Tiger 850 Sport at a starting price of INR 11.95 lakh.
A lot of similarities can be noticed with its Tiger 900 sibling range. For starters, it uses the same 888 cc, liquid cooled, in-line triple from the 900. Slightly re-tuned to 85 hp from its 95 hp rating on the 900. A 6-speed transmission helps transfer the power with an optional quick shifter available.
Two riding modes are available on the new Triumph Tiger - Rain and Road. This enables the rider to adjust throttle and traction control needs based on their current riding conditions at the time. This can be managed via a 5.0 inch TFT screen on-board.
As mentioned earlier, the chassis also uses that of its 900 range siblings with brembo discs front and rear. Dual channel ABS helps keep things under control. Two paint options - Graphite & Diablo Red, and Graphite & Caspian Blue, each incorporate contemporary new Tiger 850 Sport graphic schemes.
Luxury Motor Press thinks:
As a new entry-level for the Triumph Brand replacing the earlier Tiger 900 entry-level, the reduction of nearly INR 2 lakhs brings it nearer to competing with the likes of the BMW 750 GS. This is definitely a good thing for the brand and should bring in new customers that love touring across the country.
